EFAS lifetime award

EFAS honours the lifetime work of a distinguished scholar or clinician in audiology and hearing sciences with the EFAS lifetime award. For early career scientist, EFAS also calls for the nomination of the EFAS early career award. The honors is usually awarded every 2 years on the occasion of the biannual EFAS congress. Awarded to an individual for a sustainable series of research contributions in the field of audiology/hearing science, whose work has had major impacts on the field and/or practice of audiology and who has significantly advanced EFAS and its goals, e.g. by advancing audiology within the countries represented by EFAS.

Procedure:

  • Nomination by any EFAS member or affiliated society, any former or present voting or nonvoting EFAS representative – no self-nomination possible
  • Nomination deadline 6 months prior to EFAS congress (i.e., every 2 years) 
  • Decision to be made by EFAS board: only unanimous votes are accepted
  • o be communicated to awardee 3 months prior to EFAS congress (in order to secure attendance of the awardee at the congress)
  • To be annouced publicly 2 months prior to the EFAS congress
  • Award to be presented at opening of the congress
